During the month of July and through the closing ceremonies of the Summer Olympics in Bejing, Key West Island Gym will be donating 10% of all new one year sign-ups to the Special Olympics of Monroe County.
These amazing athletes brought home 2 Gold and 3 Silver from last years games in Orlando. The money raised will help cover expenses for training and traveling to compete. Please show your support and help this local organization that helps so many children and families see how special they are.Donations no matter how small will also be appreciated and can be dropped off directly at Key West Island Gym. All donations are tax deductible.
Questions, call Key West Island Gym at 295 8222 or Special Olympics of Monroe County at 294 7752.

It is not even July yet and we just sold our first one year Special Olympics membership and our new member also matched our 10% donation to the Special Olympics. Very impressive, and what a great start to the Summer.
Another confirmation that the people of Key West are always willing to step up to the plate with their generosity and support.

On Saturday August 9th 2008 between the hours of 7am and 11am Key West Island Gym in partnership with The Special Olympics of Monroe County will be holding the first annual Special Olympic bake sale.
All proceeds will go directly to the children of the Special Olympics and will help with transportation/accomodation and
training for these deserving young athletes.

Your support is always appreciated.

The one and only Brent, owner of
4TH OF JULY DELI AND ICE CREAM PARLOR on White Street stopped in for his workout and kindly offered us some of his delicious, quality baked goods for our SPECIAL OLYMPIC BAKE SALE which again will be happening on Sat morning Aug
9th between 7am and 11 am.Thanks Brent.
Bake sale at a gym you say!How funny. Not really, as we at Island Gym believe there is always a place in most peoples nutrition plan for a baked treat.
You can have your cake and eat it,especially when it's for a good cause such as the Special Olympic athletes.

It is 11 days until the end of the Olympic Games in Beijing, China and also 11 days until the end of our fundraising drive to benefit the Special Olympic Athletes of Monroe County and we have surpassed our goal of three thousand dollars.Unbelievable,it seems our fundraising efforts have taken on a life or momentum of its own as people are continuing to donate to our cause, people are continuing to bid on a one year membership we are auctioning at the gym,and people are still buying left over baked goods from the bake sale.
Who knows what the final amount will be.Well done Key West.
Don't forget 11 days of fundraising to go.
